Lexigraph to offer think121 technology (January 2003)
As of January 1, 2003, Lexigraph, Inc. acquired rights, licenses and assets of think121.
Lexigraph is pleased to continue offering the same world class products and high quality support
to the existing think121 user base that they have come to expect.
The following information and think121 collateral was acquired and is posted here as it may still be relevant
to the types of products and services now offered by Lexigraph.
Layered, Object-based Variable Data Workflow White Paper (July 2002)
This paper discusses how a Variable Print job can be broken down to the
level of individual objects and layers to allow maximum flexibility in
preparation, proofing and production. It describes the features and
functionality of the Think121 product suite, and how those tools empower this highly efficient workflow.
The examples illustrate a real-world production job, and show how different
requirements of the job are addressed as the job goes through production.

Unified Workflow White Paper (June 2002)
This paper discusses a unified workflow that can drive almost any printer or press. It
embraces the long-established industry standard PDF format for graphic arts along with a
versatile approach to the database and the command languages used to control
sophisticated print systems.
The unified workflow allows users to create jobs that can be run on any printer or press
that can accept a PDF (or can be refitted with a PDF RIP), and to translate the job to run
with maximum efficiency on an alternate system.

PDF Manufacturing White Paper (March 2002)
PDF Manufacturing is where Data meets Design. It's the transition point at which
the business rules and information from the back office converge with graphic arts materials
from the Marketing and Creative departments and flow into production
This powerful new workflow model allows users to manage and merge content from multiple
sources for delivery to a wide range of destinations

ARGON PPML/PDF Overview
We introduce the ARGON PPML/PDF Viewer. These slides were presented at a PODI technical
conference on November 11th, 2000 in Orlando Florida. The presentation is quite technical and covers not only
the ARGON Viewer, but also the workflow surrounding it. Since PPML/PDF is so close to pdfExpress the
ARGON workflow is basically the same as the pdfExpress workflow.

ZIP (.213 Mb).
Variable Data Proofing with PDF ProofStreamer
Please note that while Canopy no longer exists, and therefore no longer offers ProofStreamer as a product,
we felt it was important to retain this information for the website and our users.
ProofStreamer functionality is now available in the Argon suite of tools offered by think121
These slides, presented by Bill Marchiony from Canopy Print at the same Orlando PODI meeting, provide an overview of
how Canopy Print uses the PDF ProofStreamer (a PDF preflight/previewer designed to support Xeikon
eXpert and Barco II PrintStreamer workflows). This product, developed by think121 for Canopy, offers
a preview of future high-performance variable data workflows with PDF.
The PDF ProofStreamer has just moved from beta testing to production and is currently in use around
the country. ARGON will follow its lead and bring PPML/PDF to Canopy products such as the new Xeikon
CSP (Cut Sheet Press) as well as existing 32S/32D/50S/50D and 500 series Xeikons equipped with PrintStreamer
I and II rips.

Preparing Documents for pdfExpress
Like any other pre-press use of PDF, certain techniques must be used when creating PDF for
use with pdfExpress to ensure a minimum of problems. For example, proper care must be taken
to embed the correct fonts, use the correct color model, and so forth. This document outlines
the necessary steps for success with pdfExpress.
Available as PDF (.333 Mb) or
ZIP (.186 Mb).
pdfExpress Scripting Documentation
This document outlines the command set and operation of the pdfExpress merge engine. Using this
documentation, anyone familiar with programming or scripting should be able to create a simple
pdfExpress application is short order. The command set is identical for both the plug-in
and server versions. Both the ASCII and XML forms of the commands are presented.
Available as PDF (.299 Mb) or
ZIP (.151 Mb).
